Fakhrgah cave
A relatively large stone cavity in the heart of the mountain in Andarghash Village, 18km away from Mahabad, the Fakhrgah Cave is said to be built by Fravarti, father of Daiukku, the first Median King. According to historians, the intricately designed and built edifice is his final resting place.
The Fakhrgah or Fakhrigah Cave is situated at a place called Faghrgah. Erected in the Andarghash Field in Mahabad, the temple dates back to the 1st century BC.
The edifice is an artificial cave built at a 20 meter height on top of a completely flat stone wall. Inside, four columns are carved out of stone, each standing 4 meter away from the other. The two columns further inside are higher than the two at the entrance.
