With mild weather and fertile lands, historical background and a strategic position between Armenia, Asia Minor and Mesopotamia, the Northwestern province of West Azerbaijan boasts of a unique set of natural and historical attractions.

West Azerbaijan has witnessed a number of major shifts and upheavals in its background and traditions throughout the ages. The historical buildings that are still standing around the province bear proof to the long and jagged history of this remarkable land.

Many tourists from around the world swarm in every year to have a look at the historical sites, ancient monuments and glorious natural beauties of the region. Nevertheless, many tourist attractions of the region are still unknown to Iranian tourists and even the locals.
